Chair of House of Commons Transport Committee meets with ITS (UK)
At this week's ITS (UK) Council meeting we were honoured to receive a visit from Louise Ellman MP, Chair of the Transport Select Committee.
Mrs Ellman took part in a very informative round table discussion and showed a real interest in what Intelligent Transport Systems can and do contribute to the efficient, safe and clean movement of people and goods in the UK.
The discussion was wide ranging, from managed motorways to lorry road user charging, and from safety camera funding arrangements to driver performance based insurance schemes.
While the discussion was serious and informed, there was one loud laugh - when the last attempt at LRUC was mentioned in all innocence, the windows fair rattled.
ITS (UK) will continue to provide specialised information at the invitiation of Mrs Ellman and we are very grateful for the time and the attention she has already given us.
