The group aims to identify the current enforcement requirements of the Police, Local Authorities and other statutory bodies that may be helped by ITStechnologies
Freight
To allow freight and logistics practitioners to access leading edge developments in telematics so as to illustrate what is or may be on offer, and to allow ITS members the opportunity to learn of the challenges and problems currently facing the logistics and freight industry
Local Authority / Urban
This group is for ITS (UK) members with an interest in urban and local transport matters.
Public Transport
The Public Transport Interest Group provides a focus for ITS (UK) members and others who are interested in passenger information systems and related topics, such as smartcards, other electronic ticketing and transport retail systems, and IT and communications technology used in public transport fleets.
Public Sector Liaison Group
The purpose of the Interest Group is to advise UK National and Local Government and Industry on ITS solutions to address transport policy and strategy objectives that deliver economic benefits to UK Plc
Road User Charging
The aim of this group is to create an environment where Government, industry, operators and academia can share ideas and concerns openly and supportively to help identify benefits and barriers to the timely and efficient introduction of RUC within the UK.
Security
The purpose of this group is to consider how ITS may be used to provide or enhance transport security, focusing on areas such as technical, operational and policy security.
Smart Environment
This group provides a forum for all ITS United Kingdom members with an interest in transportation and the environment to meet, discuss their views and study the uses of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to benefit the environment.
Automotive User
The Automotive User Interest Group (AUIG) advises the ITS sector on the needs and abilities of road vehicle users in the design, development and deployment of ITS.
Inclusive Mobility Interest Group
Who we are The Inclusive Mobility Interest Group (IMIG) enables ITS professionals, researchers, implementers and suppliers to work with disabled and older people and their representative bodies to: • Facilitate understanding and cooperation; • Publicise the latest developments in ITS both to IMIG members and to outside parties; • Raise awareness of the needs of disabled and older people in the design, development and deployment of ITS; and to undertake research which explores the ways in which ITS can reflect the needs of the disabled traveller.
European Secure Vehicle Alliance
The ESVA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the security of vehicles and reducing auto crime
Carbon Working Group
The Carbon Working Group is a sub group of the Smart Environment Interest Group.
Communications
The ITS (UK) Communications Interest Group provides information about activities in communications technologies, both in the UK and overseas, and acts as a focus for communications queries from the whole ITS (UK) Membership
Co-operative Vehicle Highways Systems (CVHS)
The key to gaining the most from CVHS is co-operation between the road and the vehicle, to ensure the vehicle takes full account of the big picture and so deliver an effective tool for road operators. ITS (UK) has set up a new Interest Group to address this issue, complementing existing interest groups that focus on the technology aspects to look at the package of co-operation between road and vehicle.
