ITS United Kingdom elects new Chairman

ITS United Kingdom, the Intelligent Transport Systems society for the UK, has held its 2009 AGM at the National Railway Museum in York. At the meeting, Professor Eric Sampson CBE of Newcastle University, stepped down as Chairman after two years at the helm of the society. The new Chairman is Mike Schofield, a Director at Atkins, who has served as Vice Chairman for the past two years. Mike’s replacement as Vice Chairman is Jeremy Evans, Head of Technology Delivery Group at Transport for London.
In recognition of his unique experience and network of contacts, after his long service as a senior civil servant at Department for Transport, a special post of Ambassador was offered to Eric and accepted by him. As ITS (UK)’s Ambassador, Eric will continue to work to spread the word about the benefits of Intelligent Transport Systems.
